Making a Difference One Mind at a Time
The South Plains College Foundation, founded in 1979, grew from the vision of the late Gary Stacy, a prominent local businessman and College Regent, who saw the need to promote and further the educational interests of South Plains College. The Foundation, which holds a 501(c)3 tax-exempt classification from the Internal Revenue Service, is charged with raising funds for the purpose of supporting the educational programs of the college and the educational dreams of its students.
Over its history, the SPC Foundation has focused its efforts primarily on providing assistance in the form of scholarships and scholarship endowments. However, gifts and donations are also sought which support professional development endowments, capital improvements, program enrichment and other related educational activities that advance the College. The Foundation serves the entire college system with its campus in Levelland and centers in Lubbock and Plainview, Texas.
With assets in excess of $22 million, the Foundation administers nearly 300 active scholarship endowments and programs that provide scholarships for more than 850 students each year. The permanent scholarship endowment is valued at more than $20 million. Each year more than 650 individuals, businesses and organizations contribute to the success of South Plains College and its students. You can be a part of this giving legacy and help the SPC Foundation "Make a Difference one Mind at a Time."
